Limkokwing University
The proposal for Limkokwing University called for the extension of the main building in the form of a new student center and library, with integrated media and learning centers. The design opted to split the purposes of the library and student center into two separate structures connected by corridors to integrate a plaza in between. The plaza covered by a space frame ceiling creates an environment for students, teachers, and visitors to interact, socialize, and relax, whilst permitting easy movement between buildings. Notable features include the prominent overhang section of the library that gestures boldly toward the main entrance of the university campus. The project gave me an in-depth understanding of universities' need for a dynamic architecture that could help energize and reorder the campus.
The proposal is the result of personal afford and won the second prize in the competition.
